Trebuchet
Trebuchet is not pronounced “tree bucket” as is commonly done. The first part treb is like the treb in treble cleft, then the u is like you and finally the chet is like shae. I think I explained that right with my limited understanding of english.
I have beeninterested in trebuchets for a long time now and an opportunity finally came up for me to make one. There was a contest held by the engineering department at BYU my last semester down there. Well I had been trying to be more invovled so here was a good chance to do that. Also there were a lot of good prizes and I was bound to get one just for showing up. I looked online to see if there were any basic plans I could steal ideas from. I found a lot of pictures and a bunch of plans for sale, but I had to make it up on my own which really is not that hard if you look at other peoples pictures. I also found a different type of trebuchet that looked pretty cool called a floating arm trebuchet.
